Topix Search Powered by Blekko

Blekko, the new search engine that is using human curation to eliminate spam from search results, today announced it will power the search capability of Topix, the Web’s largest platform for local influence, marking an unprecedented partnership for a search engine not yet six months old.

Blekko will now power Topix search on more than 360,000 edited news pages consisting of content from more than 50,000 sources that include newspapers, blogs, radio and TV stations, government, magazines and corporate information sites. Topix is one of the largest news aggregator sites with over seven million monthly unique visitors and is rated 206, according to ComScore. Additionally, over one million searches are conducted by Topix users per month.
