In partnership with the Library of Congress, the Stock Artists Alliance created the Photo Metadata Project to promote industry wide use of standardized photo metadata in every digital file. Through live events and online resources, we are committed to helping make this happen.
Digital photo files can include descriptive, technical and administrative classes of metadata of several types. These can list an image’s creator, copyright holder, source and description. They can explain rights released and available to an image. They can list how and when an image was created, its size, color characteristics and more. Read our Metadata FAQs.
Learn how to add photo metadata to your digital image files using popular professional software with some help from our tutorials. You can read them online, download as a PDF, or view many as a screencast / video tutorial.
This is just a small portion of what's available or linked to. Photometadata.org is not a new web resource but one that we think will be of interest to many. We also think it's interesting to see how one group of metadata users, photographers, teach and discuss the topic.
There is a registration page but we had no trouble accessing many pages. If you do decide to register, it's free and only requires a name and e-mail address.
