A Video Demo of Google TV (Coming Soon) & Info About Revamped Apple TV (Available in Four Weeks)

With the news today that Apple is going to release a revamped version of Apple TV for $99 in about a month we thought it would be a good time to post a video demo of Google TV that is scheduled to launch this Fall.

The six minute video was shot at Comic-Con in San Diego and made available via Engadget. In fact, Engadget shares some thoughts in this blog post. The first Google Blog post from May is available here.

Apple TV, which had offered movies for sale, is now rental only —including first run movies for $4.99, and TV show episodes from ABC, Fox, Disney Channel and BBC America for 99 cents.

The new Apple box is dramatically smaller than the previous version, at one fourth the size. By going to a rental model, consumers won't have to deal with managing the hard drive of the unit, because everything will be streamed.
