Yahoo Testing New "Infinite Browse" Module with News; "Yahoo Trending Now" List Moves to Home Page

The following report is about a couple of tests that Yahoo is conducting.

Important:

We are currently only testing [the Yahoo News] module with a fraction of visitors, so if you can’t find it on Yahoo! News yet, stay tuned.

From a Yahoo Search Blog Post (with Screen Shots):

Yahoo News

...we’ve begun adding related search content below news stories – we call these modules “Infinite Browse”

[Clip]

...boxes appear below articles on Yahoo News [screen shots on blog post] to give you more information on the topic you’re reading about. With this feature, we’re leveraging our search technology to help people browse and explore things they’re interested in, such as images, videos, news articles, slideshows, and search suggestions – without having to go to a separate web page, type in a query and hit that “search” button.

These modules might look simple, but they harness an array of Yahoo! technologies and search sciences to complement the work of editors at Yahoo! News.

Yahoo's Trending Now Lists (Popular Searches on Yahoo Right Now)

The Trending Now List now appears on the Yahoo homepage (top right).

You can also find trending lists on Yahoo sites from around the globe. It's often interesting to compare.

Here are a examples:
Yahoo Canada, Yahoo UK, Yahoo Singapore, and Yahoo Philippines
The lists are also found in the upper right corner.

It would be great if Yahoo would offer a page where all of their trending lists could be analyzed/compared & contrasted in a single location and perhaps also compared with what's trending on Twitter.

When you click on any of the terms on the Trending Now list, you will find the latest information about a hot topic and discover related content from Yahoo! Search.
