Mobile Web: Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) Releases Free iPhone/Pad/Touch App

From the iPhone Store Description:

With [the free] app from the Copyright Clearance Center (CCC), you can:

+ Search for and obtain rights to millions of the world's most sought after materials including in- and out-of-print books, journals, newspapers, magazines, images, blogs and ebooks.

+ Register for and listen to educational and informational events on copyright and related topics

+ Stay up to date with the latest news in copyright and intellectual property through Copyright Central and the CCC Twitter feed

+ Visit Copyright Labs and test drive early versions of CCC's latest products and services

+ Get the latest information on the licensing products and services available from CCC

+ Access Rights Central, the reporting and communications hub for CCC authors, creators, and publishers

You don't need to be a CCC customer or participating publisher to access and benefit from the information provided by this app. Anyone intrigued by the ever-changing landscape of copyright in today's digital world will find something of interest.

Note: At the present time the App's opening page is optimized for the iPhone/Pad/Tourch. However, many of the underlying pages (for example, a page with permission info for a specific articles) are not optimized as the links take you to the CCC web site. It all works fine but you will have to zoom in and out to read and use the material. This will be less of an issue for iPad users. The CCC Twitter feed which is available via the App is a version optimized for mobile.
