Two Free Bibliographic Databases from EBSCO: Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts & GreenFILE
A news release reminded us of something we've posted about in the past but had forgotten about. We hope they're of interest and value.
EBSCO provides free access (registration is not required) to one bibliographic database and another database bibliographic data and a limited amount of full text to open access publications.
LISTA indexes more than 560 core journals, nearly 50 priority journals, and nearly 125 selective journals; plus books, research reports and proceedings. Subject coverage includes librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more. Coverage in the database extends back as far as the mid-1960s.
A thesaurus with 6,800 terms with 2,700 preferred terms is included as well as info on the 5000 most frequently indexed authors and the most used subject terms assigned to each author.
GreenFILE offers information covering all aspects of human impact to the environment. Its collection of scholarly, government and general-interest titles includes content on the environmental effects of individuals, corporations and local/national governments, and what can be done at each level to minimize these effects.
The database contains more than 530,000 records with access to more than 5,800 full text, open access articles.
