Reference: Compilation of Web-Based Career Assistance Resources; Materials From Individual States Included
Another timely (unfortunate) and useful research tool from The Library of Congress. It's new but it will not be very long (assuming it's maintained and updated) until it's considered an essential resource for just about every library.
Today, an "Inside Adams" blog post by Donna Scanlon contains info and links to four new compilations by the Business Reference Services team at the Library of Congress. They contain, "websites in the areas of general resources, resume help, job search, and state specific resources.
The websites permanent home will be on the BEOnline web page that has offered business related links since 1996. BEOnline is also part of Business Reference Services.
A massive list of resources from all 50 states. Once again we noticed many library career and employment sites. 100% impressive work!
Finally, we were thrilled to see that the post makes it very clear that your local public library is another resource to make use of.
Along with Margaret Scanlon (she was mentioned earlier as also being the author of the blog post), the following people were co-authors:
Kris Pruzin, Digital Reference Specialist, and Steven Davenport, Reference Librarian Humanities & Social Sciences. Additional consulting provided by Tori Hill, Acting Chief Humanities & Social Sciences, Carolyn Larson, Head of Business References Services and Julie Mangin, Network Development.
