On a wedge of land just southeast of campus, one colony has lately found itself back in the sewers – competing for the university's affections with the 43rd president of the United States.
A few years from now, the tract of land that flanks the eastern tip of Binkley Avenue will host the gleaming halls and manicured parks of the George W. Bush Presidential Center. At the moment, it looks like a pet store at the end of the world.

Officially, everyone is optimistic. Though a spokeswoman for the Bush library said she had no idea the cats existed, the university is confident an arrangement can be worked out in time.
