Over the past few years, the National Archives and Records Administration has formed partnership with three organizations: Ancestry, Footnote, and FamilySearch. Through these partnerships, many NARA microfilm publications have been digitized and made available online, either free, as in the case of FamilySearch, or as part of a subscription service, as with Ancestry and Footnote.
But until now, there was never a comprehensive list of which NARA records were available online.
This changed yesterday, April 19, when the National Archives published the following on its website: “List of NARA Microfilm Publications and Original Records Digitized by Our Digitization Partners.”
This list contains, for each digitized record set, the NARA microfilm publication number, the title of the publication or original record with a link to the online database, the digitization partner, the completion status of the records, and the NARA record group number.
