12th Annual Forbes List/Rankings of The Best Places for Business and Careers

The 2010 edition of this annual Forbes list is now available. This is the 12th year that this list has been compiled.

Cities are listed and ranked on one of two lists:

1. Best Metros
2. Best Smaller Metros

You can sort the lists by:

+ Rank

+ Metro Area

+ Cost Of Doing Business

+ Job Growth Projected

+ Educational Attainment

+ Metro Area Population

You'll also find an interactive, "city screener" to help you,"find the city that suits you best." An interactive map of the Best And Worst Places For Business And Careers is also part of the package and like most Forbes lists, an "in pictures" tour.

Each list contains 25 cities.

Here are the Top 10 cities from both lists.

Best Metros, 2010

1. Des Moines IA
2. Provo UT
3. Raleigh NC
4. Fort Collins CO
5. Lincoln NE
6. Denver CO
7. Omaha NE
8. Huntsville AL
9. Lexington KY
10. Austin TX

and the Best Smaller Metros, 2010

1. Sioux Falls SD
2. Iowa City IA
3. Manhattan KS
4. Bismarck ND
5. Logan UT
6. Auburn AL
7. Bend OR
8. Columbia MO
