Reference: New Web Guide from the Library of Congress: Richard Nixon

Kenneth Drexler, a Digital Reference Specialist at the Library of Congress, has created: Richard Nixon: A Resource Guide.

The digital collections of the Library of Congress contain a number of items associated with Richard Nixon. This resource guide compiles links to digital materials related to Nixon such as photographs, political cartoons, and documents that are available throughout the Library of Congress Web site. In addition, it provides links to external Web sites focusing on Nixon and a bibliography containing selected works for both a general audience and younger readers.

The guide is organized into three sections:

1. Library of Congress Resources
For example, using the much improved Prints & Photographs Online Catalog (PPOC) to find, "hundreds of digital images related to Kennedy such as prints, photographs, and political cartoons."

Search tips: Use the subject heading: Nixon, Richard M. (Richard Milhous), 1913 1994. You can find additional images but selecting the all search fields option and searching "Richard Nixon" as a phrase.

2. External Web Sites
An example of an external item would be a biographical article about Nixon from the Senate Historical Office.

3. Selected Bibliography
Includes works by Nixon; selected biographies; bibliographies; and books for young readers.
