New Online Database: North Carolina: Government and UNC Employee Salaries & Links to State Employee Salaries For Other States

From a BusinessJournalism.org Story:

The News & Observer in Raleigh challenged North Carolina’s law protecting personnel records from public view with a three-part series showing the impact of the decision: Salary histories kept from public.

Because the state provides only current salary information, the news organizations in the area have had to compile their own databases by requesting information annually.

Access the North Carolina Database
Department, name, and job title are the three searchable fields. We tried several searches and received results even if search fields were left blank.

Another database with salary info for the University of North Carolina System can be accessed here. Info for the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 school years.

ResourceShelf has linked to six other databases and a large compilation with state employee salary data for many other states, local governments, and other government organizations.

++ Need More? No problem! This compilation has salary info for MOST other states and MANY other government organizations.
