Credo Reference: Free Trial Access Will Be Available to Celebrate National Library Week

National Library Week (NLW) in the U.S. begins this Sunday.

Like they've done in past years, database vendors are offering free access to some of their online products to celebrate NLW. We will post the ones we learn about as they come in. We will post each one as a separate entry and will include the category National Library Week.

The first "NLW Freebie" comes from Credo Reference and their superb database of quality reference material. Approximately 480 sources (full text searchable reference publications) from 70+ well-known publishers.

Actually, along with the free database trial is the "NLW Brainteaser Challenge" with the questions being compiled from content in the Credo database. First prize is a Kindle with prizes also being awarded for second and third place.

Each day during the week participants who choose to take the challenge will receive a five-question, Brainteaser Challenge by email. Each completed quiz will count as an entry into the drawing.

Registration info for the brainteaser and free access to Credo Unlimited can be found on this page.

You do not have to participate in the brainteaser to register and use the Credo Unlimited trial.

Note from Gary: Although I haven’t done any work with or for Credo in several years, I am a member of Credo’s Corporate Advisory Board.

By the Way,

In the past couple of days you've seen posts about two databases offering free access this month. Yes, you do need to register but both products require only a small amount of info. In other words, it's a fast process.

+ Alexander St. Press (American History in Video)
Free through April 30th.

UPDATE: Please See: Sage Reference Online Trial Through May 15th

A lot of the talk around social media in the last year has been around information overload. Social media has provided us with new and exciting ways to create content.
