Trinity College Library & Seattle Public Library Hit the Mobile Web

1) Mobile access to Seattle Public Library comes via both a web app and/or iPhone/iTouch app developed by Boopsie. They develop mobile software for OCLC, The Los Gatos, CA Library, Santa Clara County, CA Library and many other organizations.

You can download the Seattle Public Library app for iPhone/iTouch here (it's free) or head to:

spl.boopsie.com.

Services on the non-app version include:

+ Checking Your Account for Holds, Fines. Renewing Materials.
+ Searching the Primary Catalog.
+ Ask a Library by IM or SMS or Telephone.
+ Library Events and Locations, New and Recommended Book, DVD, and CD Lists.
+ SPL Blogs and a Link to the SPL Facebook Page

Two quick issues.
A) What is the icon to the right of the search box for? When we "clicked all" channels we received an alphabetical list of web sites. Everything from AOL Horoscopes to a CalTrain Timetable.

B) A longer/larger box to enter and see all of your search terms would be useful.

2) The Trinity College Library in Hartford,CT is now providing a mobile web page with access to their catalog. You'll also find:

+ Directions to Campus (with a link to a Google Map)
+ Library Contact Info
+ Library Hours
+ Where are Materials Located
+ Check Your Library Account
+ Access Your ILL Account

This blog post lists two additional ways of accessing the Trinity College Library mobile site.
