Homepage 2.0 for Clicker, The Superb Guide to Streaming TV (on the Web)

March 5, 2010 17:30

Clicker is now three months old and we continue to use it quite often. It's THE PLACE to determine if a tv program (new programs or older "classics") is available on the Internet. It's also the place to determine if Netflix or Amazon.com offers the film on demand.

During our next several visits to Clicker we're going to take a look at the new home page and will report back.

Here's a blog post that highlights what we will be looking for:

1. Search on Top: For those of you with smaller screen resolutions, you’ll be happy to be able to get at the search box without scrolling.

2. Headliners: Today’s important shows and episodes, from online debuts to breaking news.

3. Popular Shows/Episodes: The most popular shows on Clicker. These will soon become personalized recommendations, so consider this a nice placeholder in the meantime!

4. Clicker Right Now: For the voyeur in you, a peek into what other Clicker users are doing/watching right now. This will also become personalized in the near future.

5. Trending: Which TV shows, movies and Web originals are shooting up the charts? Look here.

6. Categories: Still the most popular way to browse Clicker without searching, still right there on the homepage.

7. Playlist: Now that so many of you are using the Clicker Playlist, we’ve finally brought it to the homepage where it belongs, too.
