Google Book Search: More Essential Reading Compiled by Professor James Grimmelmann
Yesterday, Professor James Grimmelmann (New York Law School) and The Laboratorium blog posted an essential set of readings (primarily court filings) for settlement junkies (aka those who are following the Google Book Search Lawsuit).
In most cases, you'll find a link to the primary document along with a few comments. In this collection you'll find:
+ Pamela Samuelson’s objection letter
+ Stuart Bernstein, Literary Agent, objection letter
+ Lewis Hyde and Eric Saltzman
+ ProQuest Has Withdrawn Its Objection
+ National Federation of the Blind, supporting the settlement
Various international trade groups filed letters in support of the settlement: the Association of Canadian Publishers, the Australian Publishers Association, the Canadian Publishers’ Council, the UK Society of Authors, and the UK Publishers Association.
