Online Database: The Librarian's Yellow Pages

This database of library-related products and services is searchable by companies & products and services. An advanced search interface is also available where you can search by keywords, category, and company location.

Browsable buyer's guides include:

+ Automation Systems and Services

+ Book and Periodical Publishers

+ Film, Video, and DVD Video

+ Several Other Guides

Also, potentially useful is a browsable alphabetical list (also keyword searchable) of library-related companies. You can easily access the list of over 1,900 companies by heading to the search box at the top of the page and leaving in blank. Make sure you've selected "companies" in the drop-down menu. What should appear are company listings (access by selecting the first name of the company) or via a keyword box.

Each entry includes directory info (phone number, address, e-mail, and web site url. The entry also lists categories of products and services the company offers along with a link to "find more companies."

Is every company listed? No. Of course not. What directory is always 100% comprehensive. However, this Librarian Yellow Pages might be useful not only to get contact info about a potential vendor you already know about but also to see what else might be available.

Some might also find INFOcus: Library Grants, Resources & Best Practices also of interest.

Finally, yes, this is the same Librarian's Yellow Pages that has been published in print (it still is) since 1994.
