Yahoo's Search Assist Adds New Features

From the Yahoo Search Blog:

1) These new features are available for just about every property on Yahoo including, including Yahoo News, Yahoo Sports, and Yahoo Finance. However, Matt McGee notes. that they are NOT available from the primary Yahoo Search box at Yahoo.com.

2) Now, even before you hit the search button (with Search Assist on), you'll find:

+ Stock Quotes and Charts (enter a ticker symbol)
+ Athlete Information on Yahoo Sports (try Kobe Bryant)
+ Travel Information (try Chicago)

Again, all of these "results" before clicking the search box.

3) Also new today, Search Assist will take you to various Yahoo properties:

+ Using Yahoo Mail and Want to Head to Yahoo Finance? Just Type Finance into the Search Box and look for the drop down link.

4) Finally, you'll find:

...a smart detection system that can take you to Yahoo! Image Search or Yahoo! News Search. For example, type Obama in the search box and the Search Assist layer shows links to Yahoo! Image Search and Yahoo! News Search to help you find news or pictures of the president.
