Another Week and More New Permanent Web Archives From Archive-It; CyberCemetery Also Adds New Content

A week no longer goes by when the Archive-It isn't releasing new permanent web archives. Archive-It, a part of the Internet Archive, works with various groups to develop and make publicly accessible a variety of archives. Unlike The Wayback Machine, Archive-It archives are keyword searchable.

What's New This Week?

+ South Carolina State Government Cabinet Agencies and Misc Sites
++ South Carolina State Government Web Archive (A-L)
Archive for the Web sites for the Government of the State of South Carolina A-L excluding cabinet level agencies.

+ Virginia's Political Landscape, 2008

This collection preserves the web sites that document Virginia's 2008 Congressional elections (primary and general). All 11 members of Virginias Congressional Delegation as well as one U.S. Senate seat are up for election in 2008. Included are campaign Web sites for candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate, official sites for Virginias Congressional delegation, the state Virginia Democratic and Republican Party Web sites, as well as Web sites for members of the Virginia General Assembly. Also included are Web sites for the Political Action Committees of Governor Tim Kaine and former Governor George Allen, the personal Web sites of Lt. Governor Bill Bolling, Attorney General Bob McDonnell and former Governor (and U.S. Senate candidate) James S. Gilmore, and two political "sunshine" Web sites: Virginia Public Access Project and Richmond Sunlight. The general election is 4 November 2008.
