Cool! From a Directory of High Quality Web Resources, It's the Intute Blog

Very few weeks go by or live presentations take place that we don't mention Intute, the wonderful work discovering, organizing, and annotating high quality web-based resources going on in the UK. We place it in our list of general use, non-commercial web directories. Access to all of Intute is free. Of course, along with Intute (btw, some of you might still know Intute by it's former name, the Resource Discovery Network) comes the Virtual Training Suite, home to complete and ready to use tutorials (also free) about web searching, determining the quality of web resources, etc. for specific subject areas.

Today, we've learned that Intute now has a blog and an RSS feed for the site.

From the blog:

Postings will fall under the following categories:

* Intute News – about Intute subject services and the Virtual Training Suite
* Intute in Teaching – looking at how lecturers and librarians use Intute with their students
* Integrating Intute – see how Intute services can be integrated into your own websites and Virtual Learning Environments
* Academic Use of the Internet – discussion of the wide-reaching effects of the Internet in academic practice
* Internet Research Skills – how can we help people get the most out of the Internet for their education and research?
* Web Credibility – a particular area of concern in the academic arena, we will look at website evaluation and information quality issues
* Technology Watch – new Internet technologies that may impact on higher education
* “In” Sites – websites that Intute staff find of interest in relation to higher education and Internet research

Of course, RSS feeds are available for many features on the Intute site and they are all listed and linked on this page.

Intute also maintains blog in primary subject areas:

+ Intute: Science, Engineering and Technology Blog

+ Intute: Arts and Humanities Blog

+ Intute: Social Sciences Blog

+ Intute: Health and Life Science Blog

See Also: A Few, Just a Few, General Purpose, Non-Commercial Web Directories
We could go on an on. So, we are only selecting a handful here.

+ Librarians' Internet Index
+ Infomine
+ Internet Public Library
+ This site contains ads but is compiled by librarian Mike Maddin: AcademicInfo.net
