Free, Ad-Free Wiki Software for Educators From Wetpaint; Zoho Continues to Offer Ad-Free Wiki Service

We haven't had a chance to try this service it will likely be worth a look to teachers and school librarians. The price is more than right for the education community. It's free. We will report back later.

Ad-free wiki's are available for for qualified classrooms, nice. However, do you qualify?

See this page to learn more.

Who qualifies:

The following uses of education wikis qualify for ad-free status:

* Middle/High School, University, and Grad School Classrooms (ages 13+)
* Group projects and assignments given by a teacher as part of a class curriculum
* Dissertations, portfolios, and other displays of students’ work in school
* Wikis created by educators to connect with parents

How to Apply
If you haven't already, create your wiki, then send an email to education@wetpaint.com and include the following information:

* Your school name and address
* A short description of how you are using the wiki
* The URL of your education wiki

Please give us up to 48 hours to review your site and disable the ads.

Thanks to Dustin W. for the news tip.

Wiki's can be made public, private, or accessible to only an invited group (let's say a class group working on project). Editors can also decide for each user or group who can get access to view, edit/make changes, post comments. Three different editor types are available. A quick wiki we created using Zoho. Of course, wiki's are just one part of the growing line of Zoho web-based services.
