Web Browsers: Norway's Opera (the Browser) Opening 2nd U.S. Office, This Time in Mountain View
If you've never used Opera, it's a wonderful browser, FULL of features, and one the RS team uses regularly. Gary reminds us that the first article he ever had published was a review of Opera in 1996. Since then this Norwegian company has grown and become more robust and the built-in browser on many, or as they like to say ANY web accessible device.
"In 1999, Opera created the market for accessing the Web on any device. Today, the industry and consumers are realizing the value of using the same services wherever they are," says Jon von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software. "Our presence in Silicon Valley will allow our business relationships and Web development initiatives to deepen with closer collaboration."
Opera Software opened its first U.S. office in 2005 in San Diego, California. Its two U.S. offices aim to enrich the company's existing relationships in the United States while exploring new ones. Current Opera partners and customers include Google, Yahoo!, Adobe, Motorola, Palm, Nintendo of America, and Qualcomm, among others. Its browser-based products include the Opera browser for all major desktop platforms, Opera Mobile, Opera Mini, Opera for Wii and Opera Widgets.
The SV Opera office will be located at 700 E. El Camino Real, Suite 310, Mountain View, CA 94040.
