Unlimited E-Mail Storage and Other Features Come to Yahoo Mail; AOL Continues to Offer No Limit Storage

Since early 2007, Yahoo has been talking about offering unlimited email storage at no charge.

Well, today is the day. This new service (and more) builds on the beta that became available to the public last September. AOL Mail also offers unlimited storage at no charge.

Quick review of what's new:
+ Unlimited Storage (make sure to read the fine print)
This unlimited space can also be used to store images, attachments, etc.

+ Options to send SMS (text messages) directly from E-Mail Composing Tool

+ Yahoo Mail FAQ

See Also: Inbox.com Offers 5GB of Storage as Does e-Snips (makes finding a permanently saving a web page, audio, video a breeze).

See Also: Other Services Specializing in Automatic Backups, Remote Storage, etc.
For example, for $4.95/monthly, Mozy makes backing up your entire hard drive easy. Software and lots of storage makes backing up your entire hard drive a snap.

UPDATE: The "old version/interface" of Yahoo Mail is available and listed as the classic version.

Arrington on Yahoo Mail vs. Gmail:

Yahoo still charges $20/year for forwarding or POP access. For users who still like their desktop mail clients, POP access is an important feature. Yahoo says they are considering making it a free option, but they have a lot of paying mail customers. If they make too many features free, they jeopardize that revenue stream.

Includes Gmail, Inbox.com, Walla.com, MS Live, and others. Important to note that AOL Mail is now offering unlimited storage.

See Also: Gmail currently offers 2.9GB of free space.
