New: AOL Releases New Version of Mobile Site (Beta)
AOL Mobile Search (beta)
You can access the site on a regular web browser by going to: http://wap.aol.com and click 1 (for search). The AOL Blog has screen caps of some of the new features.
The challenge during the beta period is, will people know what they might be getting if they click the search button vs. any of other options listed on the page? Reminds us of the OneSearch concept Yahoo is using on mobile. Here's a Yahoo Mobile OneSearch results page.
+ Search results pages have new "tabs view" (Local, News, Web, Images, Finance) depending on the query. Not available on Windows mobile.
+ Other features like movies and weather appear on search page depending on the query.
Again, this is in addition to the other features listed on the Ask Mobile home page. All of these new features come via a "Search", #1.
