U.S. News & World Reports Begins Beta Test of Automobile Rankings

That's right, the same publication that offers college/grad school, hospital, and other rankings has just released a new beta featuring the "Best Cars and Trucks." What's noteworthy hear is the methodology.

U.S. News car rankings are based on our analysis of the collective wisdom of the country's top automotive critics from media companies, consumer research organizations, and other sources.

Rankings for
+ Cars
+ SUVs
+ Wagons
+ Vans
+ Pickup Trucks
+ Hybrids
Sports Cars and Convertibles are coming soon.

This meta-ranking concept reminds us of what Wize.com is doing by aggregating user-based reviews and then using an algorithm to give the item an overall score.
