Milestones: Elsevier's Compendex Adds 10 Millionth Record

The database milestones continue as Compendex added its 10 millionth record this week. More in this announcement.

Fast Facts:
+ Compendex began in 1969.
+ In 2006, over 650,000 new records added to database.
+ Indexes more than 5,600 serials, from more than 55 countries.
+ Compendex can be found on Engineering Village, Dialog, and other platforms.

The 10 millionth article added to Compendex on the Engineering Village discovery platform is titled "Hydrothermal synthesis of hydroxyapatite powders using alkyl ammonium bromides as surfactants." The article is authored by a team of researchers led by Hyun-Jung Park from the Department of Ceramics Building Materials at the Korea Institute of Ceramic Engineering and Technology and appears in the journal Key Engineering Materials, volume 342-343, 2007.

In the past week, we posted about milestones from HighWire Press (> 1.7 million free, full text articles) and PubMedCentral (> 1 million full text articles). Recently, we noted that Footnote now has more than 14 million digitized documents.
