Statistics: PC sales will top 250M units in 2007. Worldwide Mobile PC Sales to reach 91M Units

From the announcement:

In 2007 the worldwide sales of mobile PCs are projected to reach nearly 91M units—up from 15M mobile PCs ten years ago. In the next five years mobile PC sales will be 159M units—a compound annual growth rate of nearly 12%. These figures could be conservative if the One-Laptop-per-Child project and similar initiatives are successful.

Mobile PCs are gaining market share and will account for over 36% of worldwide PCs sold in 2007—a more than doubling from 17.2% in 1995. By 2012 the sales of mobile PCs are projected to account for over 47% of all PCs sold.
