Reference Database Funding: PayScale.com Raises Nearly $9 Million in Venture Capital

Salary site PayScale raises $8.8M

Since 2001, the company has compiled a database of employee information such as compensation, benefits, level of education and experience from thousands of workers.

Like other databases PayScale offers both free and fee-based services including the Anonymous Salary Reports.

Also offers cost of living data. A large amount of ERI provides is fee-based services.

However, the Salary Survey Finder is available at no charge. An excellent resource. Think of it as an index to industry specific salary surveys (with links). Also, ERI provides this free glossary of over 2,000 business terms used in compensation and benefits administration.

Additionally, Salary Expert (via CareerJournal) uses some ERI data and is free.

Again, some reports are free, others available for a fee.

You'll need to be a paid Vault member to gain access to most of the material

Another interesting feature at Indeed are their Job Trend charts.
