Web Tools: Automated Weblog Backup with BlogBackupOnline and More Local and Remote Storage Options

Backing-up content on the web is crucial and something that many people only realize after it's too late. Trust us, we know.

BlogBackupOnline is completely automated service to backup your blog (s). Just register and go. Of course, a few caveats:
+ You're able to only backup 50MB per account. However, during the beta period more space is available for free by requesting it from morespace@techrigy.com.
+ Reading the FAQ is a must with this service.
+ Two types of backups: Full backup (full HTML crawl) and Daily backup (based on RSS or ATOM Feed)

+ BlogBackupOnline works with the following weblog publishing tools:
+ Blogger
+ Friendster
+ LiveJournal
+ Movable Type
+ Multiply
+ Serendipity
+ Terapad
+ TypePad
+ Vox
+ Windows Live Space
+ WordPress

+ Another Positive: The UI is available in Spanish. Muy Bien!

See Also: Backing up your entire hard drive is also important. Of course, it can be done locally but there are a number of web-based tools that make it easy. Most offer either free space or free trials as well as the ability to share content with others. We've tried and been very happy with:
+ Mozy
+ OmniDrive
+ Box.net
+ MediaMax
Many more listed here. Use several and figure out which one works best for your needs and budget.

Finally, we also use HTTrack, Local WebSite Archive, eSnips (5GB of free storage space) and Inbox.com (5GB of free remote storage, impressive webmail client) for other types of local and remote archiving.
