Just about every week Zoho, these developers of high quality web-based tools (almost all free), are either enhancing what they already offer or releasing something new. Examples? These recent posts will give you more of an idea of what we're talking about. 1: Zoho Creator ||| 2: Zoho Notebook (Wow!) ||| Zoho Wiki
Today, yet another new beta release: Zoho Meeting.
That's right, you can now use Zoho to assist when conducting online meetings/conferences/webinars/etc. Technically, the service is not new, it's been in a private beta since March but today Zoho Meeting becomes available to all.
Zoho Meeting is free (at least for the present time) and with budgets being the way they are, this might be the ideal tool for libraries and other info pros. No word on what (if any amount) the service will cost later on.
As you know, the ResourceShelf team is spread across the world and we're going to test Zoho Meeting for some upcoming events. More soon.
Fast Facts About Zoho Meeting:
+ Full integration with Zoho Show (Zoho's presentation service, also free) and Zoho Chat.
+ Works with any OS
+ Three viewers available (Active-X, Java and Flash)
+ Meeting Viewer can be embedded into web pages and applications
+ Participants can choose to control presenter’s desktop (if agreed upon)
