Thomson Sells Thomson Learning (Including Thomson Gale) for 7.75 Billion
Another deal in the info industry. We have known that Thomson Learning was on the block since the end of October 2006 and even noted it earlier this week when we posted about a Thomson bid for Reuters. In March, Wolters Kluwer sold its education division. Last December, ProQuest sold ProQuest Information and Learning to Cambridge Information Group. The deal became official in February. Also, in December of last year, SIRSI/Dynix was acquired by Vista Partners.

Fast Facts:

++ OMERS Capital Partners (OMERS)
A consortium of funds advised by OMERS and Apax will acquire Nelson Canada
