Quickly Find TV Listings by Actor or Program Using the Internet Movie Database

Although the name is the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) it's also an excellent source television information. In fact, this section, IMDbTV is devoted to television listings (national or for your specific area), TV news, rankings, message boards and more.

In the past few weeks, IMDbTV has added a new feature that allows you to find out when a specific actor will next appear on television in a movie. You can also use it to find when a movie or television program might be airing in a rolling two week window.

They call it: TV Listings - By Star.

These listings are usually found near the top of a program or actor page labeled "Next US TV Airings*." You can also find a direct link to this info by selecting the "TV Schedule" in the left rail.

Examples:
By Program
+ 24
+ Grey's Anatomy
+ Andy Griffith Show

By Actor:
+ Parker Posey
Clicking more, will provide additional listings.
+ Jason Alexander
+ Don Cheadle

* Those of you in the UK can also use this feature (in some cases) to find listings. For example, a search for Humphrey Bogart returns to listings near the top of his IMDb page. However, when you click the "more" link you find links to films airing in the UK via direct links to myDigiGuide.

See Also: The TV Guide database provides a similar service. To compare, here are the results for Parker Posey. The issue here is that while she was at one time on "As the World Turns," Posey has not been on the program since 1992.

Bottom Line: Each service has it's worthy of your attention.
