MapleCroft Maps Come to NASA World Wind; Virtual Earth Imagery Also Available With World Wind
Since the beginning of 2007 we've posted about some useful and interesting interactive online maps produced by a company named MapleCroft. On 1/25/07 we posted about an updated interactive map of Global Natural Disaster Economic Losses. On 2/16/07 we mentioned updated maps about global displacement and global hunger.

A Few Quick Notes:
1) World Wind Central is the place to go to learn about and discuss the product.
2) World Wind can also be used to view imagery of the Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Venus, as well as material from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey.
3) You can import .KML and .KMZ files that contain placemarks.
4) Along with various database of Earth imagery, you can also import and utilize imagery from Microsoft's Virtual Earth. Super cool!
