Changes Made and Now Live: Accessing the Bloglines Image Wall

Changes Made: Accessing the Bloglines Image Wall
by Gary Price

About 10 days ago, Bloglines launched a new feature, the "Bloglines Image Wall", that offers a non-stop stream of images culled from the thousands of feeds as they hit the Bloglines database. It's a cool feature.

However, it's totally understandable that many educators, librarians, and others were very concerned that some of the imagery that's found in the blogosphere (adult type of stuff) and appearing on the wall, was inappropriate for the classroom, library, and other places. The Bloglines team heard the call and has worked to correct this challenging problem while continuing to make the complete service accessible without the Wall of Images being available where it wasn't wanted.

    The Latest

Bloglines has now moved the "Wall of Images" feature to its own domain. This should make blocking the service much easier for educators, libraries, third party services, parents/guardians and others who use tools or services to block content. In fact, the Bloglines post notes that they've already contacted some of the major services and informed them about the new URL.

I've decided to post a few more comments on my Ask.com page rather than on RS.
