Mobile: AOL Adds Social Networking Site, AIM Pages, to Mobile Platform
Mobile: AOL Adds New Item to Mobile Stack
We noticed today that the AOL Mobile site at http://wap.aol.com/portal/ has a new feature labeled #10 and named AIM pages. The main AIM Pages site is found here. It's AOL's social networking service. Think MySpace, Friendster, FaceBook, and others. This mobile version beta might be a random test. When we tried to access it several times today, we got nothing. Then, a few minutes later, after reloading the page a few times, the link for AIM pages was visible. Here's a screen cap of the page. The mobile version of AIM Pages page is searchable and offers an image and a link to a users personal AIM page that's been optimized for mobile screens. Here's another screen cap. 1. These mobile pages offer pictures, personal info, comments, etc.
