Industry Info: Searchable Database of Real Estate Industry News; Archives Too!
Let's call this your database of the weekend. We've been checking this database for a month and figured that eventually a screen would appear asking us for a password. Well, that hasn't been the case. While I wouldn't doubt that ResourceShelf might cause that to happen, we still figure it's worth mentioning.
Reis, Inc. is a well-known provider of all kinds of real estate industry data. On the Reis.com site they provide what appears to be (at least for the past month or so) a free ticker of real estate industry news stories coming from various sources using a database from LexisNexis. This page lists the last 100 stories each with date stamp, metro market, and topics. Click and the full text appears from sources like The Miami Herald, PR Newswire, San Diego Union-Tribune and many others. This link takes you to a search box where you can access three months of content. Keyword search along with limits by topic and metro area.
A very useful resource. Just no word if this is a permanent service (free) or a glitch. So, use and enjoy while you can.
