Google Continues on Domain Name Registration Spree, AP Domains This Time?

It was about a week ago when we learned that Google had struck some type of financial deal with the Associated Press to distrbute news. Google Blogoscoped (as always) was all over this story. As GB also correctly points out, other services have financial arrangements with major news services. Yahoo for one. Blogoscoped goes on to point out,

“...the AP material will become the basis for a new service which will be released in the coming months. It will be an addition to Google News."

The news today is that on August 11th (last Friday), Google registered a bunch of domains using "AP" in the name. Some might be AP (Associated Press) related while others might be dealing with actual applications. Just a guess.

Here's the list:
google-ap.com
google-ap.net
googleap.net
googleap.org
google-ap.org

google-app.com
google-app.net
google-app.org
google-apps.net
google-apps.org
google-aps.com
google-aps.info
google-aps.net
google-aps.org
googleapp.net
googleapp.org
googleapps.net
googleapps.org
googleaps.info
googleaps.net
googleaps.org
