Numerous Health Statistics Updated on StateHealthFacts.org

Updated Medicare Drug Benefit Enrollment Data

Kaiser issued an enrollment update with new April data about participation in Medicare's new prescription drug benefit.

In addition, the Foundation's http://www.statehealthfacts.org website has updated its state-specific data on how many, and what share, of beneficiaries have drug coverage from various sources. The Foundation also has updated its Medicare prescription drug benefit fact sheet.

Statehealthfacts.org Updates Data on Medicare Enrollment and Service Use, State STD/HIV Education Policy, ADAP Waiting Lists, and Medical School Graduates

Statehealthfacts.org has updated data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on total Medicare enrollment for 2005 for all states and the nation. Data on Medicare service use by service type - short-stay hospital, hospital outpatient, skilled nursing facility, hospice, physician and supplier, and home health - have also been updated. Information on sex education and STD/HIV education policies from the Guttmacher Institute has also been updated for all states. The latest information on cost-containment strategies implemented by states for their AIDS Drug Assistance Programs (ADAP) including waiting lists, reduced formularies, and other strategies from the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD) is also available. Other recent updates include the total number of medical school graduates and graduates by race/ethnicity and by Hispanic origin for 2005 by state and region. Statehealthfacts.org provides free, up-to-date, and easy-to-use health data on all 50 states, covering more than 500 health topics.
