Resource of the Week
By Shirl Kennedy, Deputy Editor
The Library of Congress website is one of those overwhelming, content-rich destination sites where, no matter how much you explore, you always come away with the feeling that you've missed something. Especially since new material is being added constantly. In all likelihood, you do not visit The Library Today page on a regular basis or keep up with all the press releases. Well, this week's resource is a site you can visit monthly for an update on the "many fascinating, educational and useful resources available from the nation's library."

The Wise Guide describes itself as a magazine that will be updated monthly with pointers to "items contained in a collection, database, reading room or other area of the Library's online offerings." This includes not only books, but "prints, photographs, films, audio recordings, maps, manuscripts, music, and digital materials" as well.
The home page features the latest edition of the Guide. On Tuesday this week, that was still March 2006, which included pointers to information about basketball's history, Don Quixote, and the life and work of Alexander Graham Bell, among other things. The home page is Flash-based but the articles are not.
