Section 628(g) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, requires the Commission to report annually to Congress on the status of competition among multichannel video programming distributors ("MVPDs"), including cable operators, direct broadcast satellite ("DBS") providers, local exchange carriers ("LECs") now entering the field, and others."
