The October/November 2004 Issue of the Bulletin of the American Society for Information Science and Technology is Now Online
It includes a special section devoted to library portals. "The Association of Research Libraries is pleased to announce the availability of the ARL Supplementary Statistics 2002-03, a compilation of data that answers these questions about electronic resources. The percentage of the average library budget that is spent on electronic materials has increased more than fivefold, from an estimated 3.6% in 1992-93 to 25% in 2002-03. 111 ARL university libraries reported spending almost $230 million on electronic resources in 2002-03."
