The new collection is titled, "British Cartoon Collection" and contains about five per cent of the complete collection (about 500 prints). From the site, ". British political and satirical prints (ca. 1621-ca. 1853, bulk, 1780-1830) highlighting aspects of British political life, including tensions with its colonies and other nations, as well as society, fashion, manners, and theater...The cartoons represented online are primarily those that have been photographed and individually cataloged in response to requests from researchers."
