Web Search--AltaVista
Source: SearchDay
AltaVista's Interface Makeover
C.S reports on an AV tweak/facelift. Now, let's hope AV can get back to frequent recrawls and database updates. Since AV's software is fully capable of handling many formats, perhaps they could also toss in access to .pdf materials.
Note: AltaVista News Search, powered by a feed from Moreover DOES NOT ALLOW the use of boolean connectors (and, or, "and not"), the proximity opeartor "near", or any of the other AV "special search terms" (e.g. title: text: ). According to spokesperson at AV, these features will be available sometime during the upcoming summer. The + and - signs work with AV News Search.
