"Google Votes to Put Surfers in Charge"
I've been a big fan and user of the Google toolbar since it came online late last year. A real timesaver when I want to search using Google. Now, word of a beta release that allows users to vote and help determine the popularity of a given page. This is only a test according to Google spokesperson David Krane. We will have to wait and see if this is something Google begins to use on a full-time basis as part of its relevancy algorithm. Question? This article also provides a good overview of the search engine optimization world and how Google ranks pages. If your interested in a detailed discussion about Google, this paper Larry Page and Sergey Brin presented at a 1998 WWW conference is well worth a read.
