Makeover and New Tools Planned For An Already Great Site For State News and Info, StateLine.Org
If you haven't visited Stateline.Org you should. It's a wonderful source for news and background info about public policy issues from all 50 States. This coming Monday, October 1st, the site will have a new look along with new navigation and personalization tools. Additionally, the site will allow you to download basic demograhic data into spreadsheet programs. The Stateline.Org is site is operated by the Pew Center on the States, a research organization administered by the University of Richmond, and funded by the Pew Charitable Trusts.

Canada's Museum of Civilization Website Relaunched
From the news release, "Civilization.ca has been redesigned to offer additional navigation tools, pathways to news and many new interactive features: exhibitions, publications, scholarly material, educational games, online shopping and quick links to the CMCC's special interest areas. With the recent improvements to the site, Web users will be enticed to explore and discover the wealth of the CMCC's historical content online...The site enables visitors to further search for a precise subject or to browse through material in thematic sections: archaeology, arts and crafts, civilizations, cultures, First Peoples, history, treasures and military history. Special resources for kids, educators, scholars and the media are also available. By the beginning of November, the introductory issue of an electronic newsletter will be sent to those who subscribe through Civilization.ca."

New Web Site: Government On-Line Advisory Panel
From the site, "The Advisory Panel is comprised of representatives from all facets of Canadian life, including the general public, the business and the high-technology sectors, the academic and educational sector, and the voluntary sector. Its role is to ensure that government services are responsive to the needs of Canadian citizens and businesses." At the moment you can find a small selection of Canadian Internet usage statistics on the site along with some background info about the panel.
